The Menopause Maze © programme provides two modules and a 1:1 coaching session. The modules can be provided in a small group or 1:1 format and can be provided online or face-to-face

Module 1

Understanding what the terms menopause and perimenopause mean is the first step in proactively approaching this middle stage of our lives. The significantly changing hormone levels during this stage impact us physically and mentally. This impact is felt from the hair on our head to the toes of our feet and everything in between. In Module 1 the focus is on the physical effects of perimenopause and menopause and what options you have to manage these effects and optimise your health during this stage.

Module 2

Balancing our mental health and wellbeing during perimenopause and menopause is vitally important. The decreasing levels of oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone affect our brain and mood. Feelings of anxiety, depression and fogginess are not unusual. In this module we will explore how perimenopause and menopause affect your mental health and how you can take steps to protect your mental health when your hormones are fighting against you!

1:1 Session

The focus in this one-to-one session is to clarify what your priorities are during perimenopause/menopause. This will enable you to develop a plan that is action-based, future-focused and achievable, which will support you in confidently approaching this time of transition in your life.

Work Place Education

It is possible to provide the modules without the 1:1 session, which is useful in the context of providing this educational material in the work setting. The benefit of the group approach is that the women attending realise that they are not alone. The individual woman’s journey through menopause differs but there is a shared experience and through the group approach women exchange and share experiences and learn from each other while also gaining important support. We are a social species and being connected to others, especially others experiencing similar struggles, is of significant benefit to us. The Menopause Maze programme provides research based, factual and clear information on perimenopause and menopause. There is a large volume of myth, misinformation and taboo attached to this issue and the Menopause Maze aims to address this by supporting women to be fully informed.

A variety of templates and tools are used during the modules and 1:1 sessions to help develop an individualised plan.

Perimenopause and menopause require a commitment to radical self-care. Investing in ourselves and taking time for our own self-care is essential and will pay off.
